SounDesign exists to bring clarity and control to residential technology. Too often, home technology in Houston is fragmented: different vendors, disconnected systems, and no clear ownership when something goes wrong. The result is unnecessary complexity and inconsistent performance.

We eliminate that. Our team designs, installs, and supports residential technology as one coordinated system. Every element, whether it’s audio, video, networking, security, lighting, or control, is planned together, integrated properly, and managed over time.

Rather than functioning as a typical AV company, we focus on how each system works together as a whole. That means clearer decisions, fewer gaps between trades, and systems that perform consistently without added effort for the homeowner.

Drawing on our founder’s 17+ years in the industry, we’ve developed a methodical way of handling technology that prioritizes reliability, usability, and long-term performance.

Our Story

August 2013 - SounDesign Founded

A new standard in residential and commercial technology integration is born in Houston, TX.

2014 - Became a CEDIA Member

Joined CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association), aligning with the industry's highest professional standards from the company's earliest years.

November 2014 - Showroom Unveiled

Opened the first SounDesign showroom, giving clients a hands-on experience with integrated technology.

2016 - Milestone Project

Completed first $400,000+ estate installation, a milestone project showcasing SounDesign's ability to deliver complex, high-end integrated systems at scale.

2017 - First Acquisition

Acquired all assets of Vision Quest Automation, expanding SounDesign's capabilities and client base.

2018 - Achieved Crestron Elite Pro Status

Earned Crestron Technology Professional (Elite Pro) status. SounDesign would go on to hold this elite distinction five consecutive years.

2019 - NASA Project

Selected as the Crestron integrator for NASA's Mission Control Room renovation, honoring the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. That put SounDesign technology in the room where history was made.

2020 - A Future Under One Owner

Founder and CTO, Cory Andrews acquired sole ownership of SounDesign, buying out his partner and charting a clear course for the company's future.

Feb 2020 - Standby Power Division Addition

Became an authorized Generac Standby Generator Dealer, adding a standby power division.

May 2023 - SounDesign Design Center

Opened the SounDesign Design Center, an immersive, client-facing experience space for exploring integrated residential technology.

2026 - SounDesign Rebrand

Unveiled new brand identity, launched redesigned website, and renovated the Design Center, signaling the next chapter for SounDesign.

Cory Andrews

Founder & CTO
Cory Andrews didn't start in technology. He started in hospitality, learning the art of service in restaurants before running his own fence and decorative iron business, where he built things with his hands and his word. Those roots shaped everything: an entrepreneur's instincts, a gift for connection, and a deep respect for doing the job right the first time.

In August 2013, Cory founded SounDesign on a simple promise: one integrated system, one point of accountability, and zero guesswork for the life of the home.

An active presence in the rodeo community, Cory leads with cowboy values: straight talk, hard work, and loyalty that lasts. His superpower is people. With manufacturer reps, vendor partners, industry associations, and clients built over 17+ years in the industry, Cory's network is both wide and deep.

But what drives him most is the moment a system comes alive and a client's eyes light up. That spark of wow is what he designs every system to deliver.

Cory is a founder, a connector, and a designer at heart.

Roger C. Igo

Executive Partner
Roger C. Igo is a Houston-based business operator and strategist with over 30 years of experience building service-driven companies, in some cases literally. Roger built The Bell Tower on 34th from the ground up, then grew it into one of Houston's premier event venues over 18 years.

His background in custom home construction and client experience gives him a rare fluency in the world SounDesign serves. That perspective now drives his work alongside Founder and CTO Cory Andrews, helping redefine what a residential technology firm can be: not another installer competing on specs, but a single accountable partner who owns the outcome from design through long-term support.

An author of two books and alumnus of The Disney Institute and CEO Space International, Roger brings a relentless focus on accountability, execution, and building companies that compete on value no one else offers.
